My wonderful friend Marianne Taylor emailed me excitedly the other day to let me know she had just shot a wedding that she knew I would love…and oh do I!? Aren’t those portraits just phenomenal? And don’t even get me started on the shots of Caroline and her floaty-light dress at the end!
“I’m so happy to finally be able to blog about Caroline & Ben’s beautiful London wedding. There are so many things I loved about this wedding, from Caroline’s stunning Jenny Packham gown and headpiece, to the gorgeous Market Suite at the Fox & Anchor where Caroline and the girls were getting ready, through to the beautiful ceremony at Islington Town Hall and reception at The Crypt . There was a real London feel about this wedding, and I loved the fact that when we went for a little portrait shoot with Caroline and Ben after the ceremony, we just hailed a black cab. When in London…”
Thanks to Marianne for sharing this faaaabulous day with us

I'm definitely not only of those girly girls. I favour a bold and modern aesthetic over pretty pastels any day. But Joey & Mike's wedding slayed me when it landed in my inbox recently. And 'pretty' is really the only word I can use to best describe what I saw.

Pastel Colours for a 1950s Inspired Wedding: Emily & James

June 14, 2012
As soon as I laid eyes on Emily's incredible silver embellished 1950s inspired wedding dress I was smitten. What an utterly gorgeous bride and a completely beautiful wedding. I couldn't wait to get it on these digital pages of mine! The couple were married at Edes House, Chichester and had their reception at the groom's father's house in Bosham.
"We wanted our wedding day to completely reflect James and I", Emily told me. "This was something we kept in mind during the whole process, as I think it is easy to lose sight of what and who weddings are for, when you are surrounded by so many people in the wedding industry telling you that you absolutely need this and definitely need that.
We both adore the 1950s and the pastel shades, and I really feel like these things were very present in the whole day. We also chose from the beginning which things would be the most important to us - these ended up being the food/drink for James and the flowers for me. We chose a catering company who were very local and produced the most delicious food. We hand picked each of the types of alcohol we chose, with Arundel Ales coming from Sussex and the cider coming from Appledram which is just around the corner from the reception."

I'm not really supposed to have favourites, but Betty might just be one of the most beautiful and radiant brides I've ever seen... I am totally smitten with her 1940s vintage lace dress (bought on eBay for £40!) and that adorable white faux flower crown and simple bouquet combo. Total perfection. She married Johnny in Cornwall during April and the wedding only cost £5000.
