This Australian wedding blew me away as soon as I laid eyes on that dress ! Shannon & Carl got married in Brisbane and had a vintage glam wedding full of quirky and classically styled delights. I am loving the multi-layered, uber cute Paul Hunt dress and accessories that Shannon rocked (including her amazing bouquet – le swoon indeed.) Her shoes were from Miu Miu and her beautiful hairpiece was found at Chelsea De Luca . The bridesmaids looked equally vintage-gorgeous in their dresses by The Magical Adventures of Dolly. The locations are to die for – the glamorous ceremony venue, the Tattersall’s Club, contrasts perfectly with rough ‘n ready portrait site and the super trendy, waterside reception which took place at Riverlife , the old Naval Stores beside the Brisbane River. A wedding of contrasts and a wedding of style.
Thanks to Stephen for sharing one of his very best and certainly most Rock n Roll weddings with us.

Vintage Nautical Wedding: Tenille & Christian

Tenille & Christian were married at Maritime Museum in Fremantle, West Australia. The venue totally set the tone for their vintage nautical themed wedding. "I found working with our theme to be quite easy", explained Tenille. "The colour scheme worked and it was easy to pinpoint and find things to match our theme. If you have Photoshop and some time to be creative then you can save loads of money doing things like menus and table names yourself. I also highly recommend a cocktail party wedding as guests get to mingle and no one is stuck at a table. It really livens up the atmosphere to have guests being able to stand, dance and have fun in general."

Isn't it funny when two of your worlds collide? I've been stalking following Talia on Instagram for ages (I love love love her cute kawaii style!) and so when I received their wedding photographs from Eric Roland I literally jumped up and down with glee! I knew this wedding was going to be awesome from the few sneaks I'd seen on her feed but I was little prepared for this level of amazement...

A French Resturant Wedding: Kat & Ton

November 29, 2012
Being massive foodies, Kat & Ton knew that serving a fantastic meal was high on their list of wedding day priorities. So for their reception venue they selected their favourite French restaurant in Brisbane, Montrachet. "In my opinion Montrachet is the best French restaurant in the city, and has been a family favourite for years", Kat told me. "Feeding our families and friends good food and wine was very important to us. The staff, both kitchen and front of house, made sure the night was perfect with superb food and exceptional service."

I'm seeing a huge shift in a lot of the weddings that I'm being submitted of late. While large and lavish detail-heavy weddings were, and in many cases still are, wedding blog perfection, I am noticing that these days it's the smaller ones that a catching my eye. It seems that lot of my readers are completely swinging the other way and are planning small, intimate and personality-heavy nuptials. I know what it is though - my readers are rebels, just like me! You don't want to do what everyone else is doing - you want your weddings to be different and to be a perfect reflection of your love and your relationship. And that, dear readers, is why I friggin' love each and every one of you!
I've known Amy for a while now. She is one third of Ava - a wedding styling company based in Birmingham, and we've actually worked together on many occasions. The biggest collaboration we've done has got to be my Rock n Riot shoot where she even commissioned a graffiti artist to paint me on a giant wall!

I joked on Facebook recently that the way to get blogged on Rock n Roll Bride is clearly to have a cat theme to your wedding, because this is the forth one I've featured in so many weeks (the others are here, here and here)! I stand by my convictions though, cat weddings are awesome. End of discussion.

A New South Wales Antiques Warehouse Wedding: Keira & Jack

September 20, 2012
Keira & Jack wanted an intimate wedding with their nearest and dearest. They were married in July in New South Wales. "Our inspiration was very eclectic", described the bride. "We didn't stick to any particular colours or themes. We knew that we didn't want to have your typical sit down dinner; we wanted people to have the chance to talk to each other, rather than being trapped on their tables."
