So you thought their Jess & Dana’s engagement’s were amazing right? Well check their wedding out. Ahhhh I am in love and lust all at the same time! The Groom’s crazy cool suit was made from a vintage pattern and the couple said they were going for “a mix-mash of styles with a vintage feel” which I have to say totally works. Why on Earth do you have to stick on one theme?! The Bride didn’t wear a wedding dress, she picked it up from her favourite shop in Australia.
A ridiculously huge thank you to photographer/videographer extraordinaire Hailey Bartholonew of You Can’t Be Serious. I am forever if your wedding debt!

Retro Bowling Club Wedding with an Ocean View: Nat & Sam

The retro wedding of Nat & Sam is perfect... literally perfect. I just know you're going to go nuts for Nat's nostalgic bridal style, their ocean view ceremony and the reception that looks like it stepped right out of the past.
"Our ceremony was at Burrows Park Headland, Sydney", explained Nat. "The ceremony spot was a beautiful cliff edge looking over the Pacific Ocean and located right next to the Bowling Club where we had the reception. We loved that the only way to get to it was via a very long, natural aisle sheltered on one side by trees, which we decorated with Chinese lanterns. For our reception we chose Clovelly Bowling Club. It was cheap as chips to hire, the drinks prices stuck in the 1980s, and the tacky bright blue carpet and a strange old picture of the Queen flanked by two Aussie flags above a stage which houses an ancient piano (which we tuned up and used!) were AWESOME! As soon as we walked in we looked at each other and said 'Yes!'. Oh, and it had 180 degree ocean views!"

I joked on Facebook recently that the way to get blogged on Rock n Roll Bride is clearly to have a cat theme to your wedding, because this is the forth one I've featured in so many weeks (the others are here, here and here)! I stand by my convictions though, cat weddings are awesome. End of discussion.

Ben and Kate were married in August at Flaxton Gardens, Queensland, Australia. They wanted a romantic wedding but one that was a little bit different, to reflect their personalties. " I struggled to begin with to decide what to do and how to do it", began the bride. "I read a lot of magazines and blogs but it wasn't until I found Rock n Roll Bride that I realised that it really didn't matter what everyone else was doing, we should do what represents us best. So we did what made us happy, didn't worry about tradition so much and did things that weren't so ‘wedding’. I kept my hair short (I always thought I’d grow it), I kept it coloured (blue) and we wrote our own vows that made everyone laugh as they really reflected us."

Chris and Ursula met at the age of 18, when they were both obsessed with music and played in a combined schools orchestra. "He had a massive curly shoulder-length afro at the time, I wore a pink school uniform; he played oboe, I played clarinet", she said. "We bonded over car rides home and his mum’s choc-chip cookies. We were shy young things though and didn't eventually get together until a year or so later, after I returned from living in Denmark for a year."

We discussed 1960s music, our love for the Beatles, books, films and politics!"
